Samburu mother and child

This lovely young woman was the sister of our guide to the village. She was sitting in the shade of a thorn bush, making a bead necklace, when we arrived, and when I asked if I could take her photograph, she put down her beads (the blue 'disc' in the foreground) and lifted her toddler onto her lap.
The chain which hangs from her earring (in this case, tucked into the red beads) shows she has a young son.
The bowl at her feet contains the beads and other decorations.
