Black-shouldered Kite - an attractive, medium-sized raptor (12k)
Black-shouldered Kite

Nairobi National Park has a unique location, about nine kilometres from the centre of a capital city, right next to the International Airport. It was the first national park to be created in Kenya, in 1946, and is about 120 km² in area.
The park supports a variety of habitats, from forest to plains.
Many safari companies arrange half-day trips out of the main city hotels (book at the tour desk, or phone the company of your choice), but even a day won't let you see everything. There are a few picnic spots. There is a good chance of seeing four of the 'big five' - but not elephant. (To be honest, we haven't seen leopard there - yet!)

Cattle Egrets loafing, but they are more often seen around buffalo which stir up prey animals (19k*)

Twin Zebra foals?
These Plains Zebra foals were probably twins, since it wasn't the usual time of year for foals to be dropped. Twins aren't very common in Zebra.
