Woolly-necked Stork

Ciconia episcopus microscelis

The Wooly-necked Stork isn't particularly often seen, though it is recorded as 'fairly common on coastal mudflats, lagoons and reefs, and along streams and rivers in S-E Kenya. We saw this bird in the Masai Mara, where it has fairly recently been confirmed as breeding.
In India, another race is called the White-necked Stork, but the feathers on its neck really do have a 'woolly' appearance.
