Olive Thrush

Turdus olivaceus abyssinicus

This species is a common resident in the Central Highlands, and is often seen in Nairobi gardens and at places like The Outspan and Aberdares Country Club, base lodges respectively for Treetops and The Ark.
If I remember correctly, this one was photographed on the boardwalk of The Ark.

Olive Thrush (back view) - 26Kb It's always valuable to see how different the same species can look in different light and ambient conditions. The bird above looks much more like it looks in the field guides. However, luckily for identification purposes, our eyes are much more adaptable to different conditions than film is.
