| Although Mt Kilimanjaro is in Tanzania, the classic - and best - view is from Amboseli. It is about seventy miles away, but looks much, much closer. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. A hi-res version of this image can be found at
