I've learned an important lesson while preparing this page - "Always test out your thumbnails on a low-res monitor setting before committing". I prepared these thumbnails on a very high-res setting, and now that I see them on 800x600, they look terrible. :-(

Besides which, many of the photos are poor quality anyway: the trip was an organised group trip, so photography had tobe done 'on the hoof': literally 'point, shoot and run', and many of the images here are blow-ups from tiny sections of scans.
